ZERO WASTE FEST
LOCATION
This year, Zero Waste took place in Antalieptė (Lithuania), on August 12-14.
It all started when my friend Aistė (one of the organizers of the festival) offered to come to the festival for free.
As soon as I entered the territory, the panorama of a beautiful homestead opened up: a small pond crossed by a wooden bridge, a tent camping, a market of goods and tastes, trees with hammocks, and most importantly, free people with bare feet, children running and the smell of incense!
The first thing Aiste and I did was OUR FESTIVAL MAKE-UP! Aistė braided cute pigtails for me, added glitter to my face, highlighted my eyes with colored eyeliners, and glued on crystals.
I planned to sleep in the hammock all day, but Aistė invited me to sleep in the monastery! There are no words to describe the interior of the monastery!
Very high, graceful, cream and white ceilings, bohemian crumbling walls, spacious rooms, and tall doors. Everything you need!: mattresses, toilets, showers (even with hot water!), kitchen, dining room. JUST TAKE A LOOK! I felt like I have traveled 100 years back, to the room of a lonely artist
THE PROGRAM
I really liked the programme. What made me particularly happy was that the program was not overcrowded, I could participate more or less everywhere.
There was laughter therapy, air therapy, meditation, yoga, sound therapy before sleep, self-massage, movement therapy, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and many other things.
Various workshops, presentations, discussions, a lot of groups and performers came, films were shown, and the fashion show took place. During the entire festival, there was a chill zone, a kid zone, and shops full of various cool accessories, tote bags, crystals, clothes, and countless other cute things.
The biggest discovery was air therapy! It is done with specific hammocks. They are not cheap, they cost about 120 euros. Inside the hammock, you can cover yourself and meditate. There is therapy, during which you lie in a "capsule", like in the mother's womb: this technique helps your inner child, you can stretch yourself in any way, in other words, there are certain exercises: you can hang your legs high, you can lie down, you can make a capsule and so much more. You can stretch all the muscles, it calms and lulls you to sleep.
After falling asleep I was in that cradle for half an hour. I left it when the hall was already empty ;D Now one of my dreams is to buy such a "hammock" and hang it in my apartment. Well, it's a really special experience, inside that hammock you feel very alone with your thoughts.
I also fell asleep within minutes during sound therapy.
I have tried laughter therapy before, but maybe this time was not the right time? Since the laughter therapy started early in the morning, I wasn't fully awake, maybe I wasn't in the right mood, so I didn't manage to make myself laugh, I had to force myself.
I also tried movement therapy, of course, I was waiting for it the most, and I was very satisfied. I also tried to stand on the vines, calm my mind, concentrate, and take deep, calm breaths.
At one point, I decided to treat myself, the massage fairies had come to the festival, so I ordered a back massage and bought accessories at the fair (earrings and a necklace).
It's strange that during these 3 days I felt quite tired, I fell asleep during most of the therapies, I didn't go to most of the concerts, and at 12-1 o'clock, I was already sleeping.
During the first day, we all played with instruments, danced, and sang while Jurgis Didžiulis was singing. We listened to Justė Kraujelytė and Joseph June.
On the 2nd day, I decided to go to the toy sewing workshop… That was a tragedy:D I realized that sewing is my biggest nightmare, 2.5 hours of torture. According to the idea, the workshop was supposed to last 1 hour, but it took me 2.5 hours. I didn't know how to sew or how to use a sewing machine, I felt like I was back in the technology class at school, so because of that, I missed half the program!!!!… Of course, I finished that toy.
On day 3 I made a doily with flower ornaments! They are obtained by hammering flowers and leaves through the material. There was a fashion show (3 sustainable collections) and a battle of wits (where we took the last place)
I highly recommend going to this festival to everyone who hasn't been there! A lot of nature, peace, spontaneity, and unity ◡̈
BIG LOVE <3 !!!!
