How to get any job you want
The biggest thing people don’t get is that every single experience you’ve ever had helps the next job, even if it looks totally unrelated. people think your cv has to match the job title exactly, like if you’re applying for x, you must’ve worked in x before. no. that’s just not true.
every job gives you skills that transfer. they overlap. it’s like collecting life skills and concepts. for example, if you worked in finance, you probably learned focus, responsibility, working with documents, numbers, structure. those exact skills can later help you in a totally different field. that mindset alone already changes everything.
about cvs: it has to look clean and professional, but not overloaded. no photo, because photos create bias. one page only, one side. around 4–5 jobs max. i’ve had way more jobs than what’s on my cv, but i only include the ones that feel the most serious or most me. i honestly don’t even care about dates, and neither do employers. what matters is that the experience represents you.
for each job, i add 4–5 bullet points, very short, just a few words. not sentences. what i did, what i learned, what skills i gained. they have to be specific and different from each other.
and your cv shouldn’t only be jobs. add volunteering, projects, seminars, courses, skills. basically your whole life experience, but concentrated well.
the “about me” section is super important. i hate cliché stuff like “hardworking, responsible, detail-oriented”. everyone is "hardworking, responsible and detail-oriented". everyone writes that. it says nothing. you need to find what actually makes you different. what’s the one thing you have that others don’t. your uniqueness. lean into that.
now motivation letters - this is huge. like honestly 50–50% of the success. employers don’t only care about work experience, they care about who you are as a person and all the skills you’ve collected through life. and most of those skills don’t even come from work, they come from volunteering, projects, ideas, hobbies, things you’ve tried.
your motivation letter shouldn’t repeat your cv. it should explain why you want this job, why you, what led you here, what kind of person you are, what excites you, what your values are. be real. be sincere. employers genuinely feel when someone is authentic.
longer is not better, but not one paragraph as well. i personally have loads of saved motivation letters for different industries that i reuse and tweak.
another huge thing: cold emails. they work insanely well. don’t wait for job ads. most places aren’t even actively hiring.
make a list of places you’d love to work at - galleries, cultural spaces, theatres, companies you like, whatever. go to their websites, find the director’s email (literally the director), and write directly. attach your cv and motivation letter straight away. just say that if they ever need extra hands, ideas, help, you’re available. list what you can do in bullet points.
i used to send like 20-50 cold emails a day. sometimes even 150 at once (always bcc so they don’t see each other). most people ignore it, which is normal. some say they’re not looking. and many say “we weren’t hiring, but you seem interesting, let’s talk”. that’s how interviews appear out of nowhere.
Even if they’re not hiring, they might save your contact or put you in their database.
many jobs have said “we weren’t hiring but you seem so interesting so let’s meet!”
After applying to around 150 places in ONE email, I suddenly got invited to 20 interviews.
at the same time, use job platforms like linkedin, indeed, and others. make accounts everywhere, check listings daily. i used to apply to around 40 jobs a day. i used one strong cv and focused on motivation letters instead of making a million cvs.
now interviews. this part matters so much.
when you go to an interview, you need to radiate positivity, confidence, good energy. every interview i go to ends up going really well because we just laugh, joke, talk like humans. i treat it like talking to a friend. i answer respectfully, but i’m super honest. i don’t use memorised answers.
you can instantly tell when someone is speaking in templates. employers don’t want that. they want someone who can communicate, listen, and represent themselves.
knowing how to sell yourself is a skill and a practice. you need to know your strengths, your abilities, what makes you different, what projects you’ve done. but honestly, a lot of it comes naturally when you’re relaxed.
people always tell me i’m radiant and easy to talk to. and that’s genuinely one of the main reasons i get jobs - people just enjoy the conversation.
one example: i once applied for a teacher job with zero paid experience, but i attached my writing blog. i sell everything in my cv - my writing, acting, creativity - because it all matters. they later told me they wouldn’t have hired me based on experience, but my blog showed my values and who i am as a person, and that’s why they wanted me on the team.
people aren’t looking for robots anymore. that approach is outdated. now they care about vibe, energy, how you’d fit into the team. they want a good atmosphere at work.
so put your hobbies on your cv. what you write, film, dance, draw - all of it. then in interviews you’ll feel free, like you’re just talking to a human. smile, laugh, be warm. trust me, that leaves a stronger impression than perfect answers.
good cv, good motivation letter, profiles on multiple job sites, cold emails straight STRAIGHT to directors, and always authentic communication.
authentic communication is everything 💛
How I got 150 client messages overnight by posting in a group?
Of course it is like a BINGO - one time there is luck, another time - no. The magic and mistery of social media.
There should be your photo - otherwise - people don’t like that. Cause before portfolio, people want to book from people. People tend to book services from someone who feels reliable and pleasant in a natural, approachable way. Who looks understanding, appealing, and just good vibes.
Trust me, I’ve been in the job market for almost 10 years and I’ve changed around 30 different roles across completely different industries. And what I’ve noticed is that we’re moving into a new era - where your “achievements, degrees, portfolio” don’t say as much as they used to.
They want a real HUMAN, a great-vibe team member. Someone who naturally radiates authenticity and uniqueness.
The market is over-flowed. There are endless people offering the same services as you and as me. And from what I’ve read in client posts, many are deeply disappointed with freelancers - because of irresponsibility, wasted time, lack of punctuality and poor communication. And all ends up with refunds for so many clients.
And now when some social media girl posts “6 years of experience…” - it gets zero engagement. And then people say, “This market is fucked up. I have two degrees and 10 years of experience and I can’t get a job.”
Yes, because you’re missing the point.
The point is: people don’t trust easily anymore. They’re not looking for the most qualified person on paper. They’re looking for someone reliable and someone they feel safe working with.
This is what I wrote on my post - and I didn’t even need to attach my portfolio, or CV - I had 0 reviews, 0 social networking, 0 clients in Lithuania, and overnight I’ve got 150 messages:
“ After a long journey of self-discovery, I’ve found where my strongest passions and talents lie - aesthetics, visual communication, creativity, and digital media.

www.linkedin.com/in/emilija-zino-92b099226
My background in community and art projects, writing, and cross-industry work allows me to stay creative, flexible, artistic, and authentic.
💜 I’m reliable and organized - yet spontaneous and creatively driven”
(with no experience and no prior clients)
And I attached the photo of me laughing and just radiating the best aura possible.
And I have got comments like “wow damn what a person!” “what a personality! I don’t have a business, but when I will have - I will contact you” “I’d hire you if I had a business”
+ if you are looking for clients, writing in the comments is never enough - clients who are looking for a specific service - they don't sit in the comments, they wait for the message. Because think -
it is easier to post and wait for the messages, then keep scrolling and looking for it. Don’t only comment - write them directly
Personally me , when I got that many messages -
I didn't even look at the clients in the comments, who wanted the most - already wrote me.
how are you different? Where is authenticity?
People want authentic communication, authentic presentation about yourself.
So, I recommend you to write an honest funky post about what makes you YOU and send it EVERYWHERE!
Good luck💋
